We replaced the roof The Klaus Roofing Way by cleanly stripping the shingles, replacing all ineffective sheathing, properly installing weather-resistant underlayments, and nailing all the shingles down flatly. The result was a happy homeowner who gained some peace of mind.

For example, the chimney seen here did not have any flashing before we came to replace the roof. We added flashing on the chimney because chimneys are a vulnerable spot for water intrusions, and this little detail may help this roof last a little longer. Although the new flashing may not be noticed initially, it will be appreciated when the roof outlasts others.

Read this section our Inspector left on why the existing decking was troublesome, "The decking of the current roof includes shiplap/board decks; the gaps between each board are too wide. This issue can cause leaks and incorrect installation due to nails not properly fastening into wood decking. This is not recommended as it may potentially cause buckling problems, which are not covered by our warranty. Therefore, the roof decking needs an overlay of ⅜ plywood." We finished the new roof in a day.
